Abu Serga or the Cave Church is the oldest church in Egypt dating back to the 5th century A.D. The church owes its fame to having been constructed upon the crypt of the Holy Family (Jesus, Mary, and Joseph) where they stayed for three weeks during their sojourn in Egypt.
We will climb down into the crypt beneath the church, and see the area where the Holy Family stayed:

Day 0 - April 8th: Welcome to Cairo!
Welcome to Cairo! After arriving at Cairo International Airport, a friendly meet and greet assistant will be waiting for you inside the terminal to guide you through the airport formalities. You will be transferred to your hotel in Giza, either the luxurious Hyatt Regency Cairo West or Crowne Plaza Arkan.
The rest of the day is yours to relax, acclimatize, and enjoy the vibrant energy of Cairo.

Day 1 - April 9th: Sacred Coptic Cairo and Holy Sites
After a nourishing breakfast, we begin our journey through Cairo's spiritual heart. We’ll start with a visit to the St. Simon "The Tanner" Monastery. This 10th-century cave church, carved into the Mokattam Hills, is a sacred site tied to the Holy Family's journey through Egypt.
Next, we’ll visit the Tree of the Virgin Mary, where you can reflect and connect with the presence of the Divine Feminine. Our spiritual day ends with a visit to the Our Lady of Zeitun Church, known for its history of miraculous appearances of the Virgin Mary. This day offers plenty of time to soak in the profound energy of these sacred sites. After our visits, we will enjoy a nice lunch together. We will return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 2 - April 10th: Spirituality and Splendor of Islamic Cairo
After breakfast, we'll see some of the incredible mosques in Islamic Cairo. We begin with a visit to the Citadel, home to the magnificent Muhammad Ali Mosque. Standing atop a hill, this mosque offers panoramic views of Cairo, with the pyramids visible on a clear day.
From here, we’ll explore the stunning architectural grandeur & sacred geometry of the Al-Rifa’i Mosque and the awe-inspiring Mosque of Sultan Hassan. The spiritual energy of these ancient structures will leave you inspired and in awe.

Day 3 - April 11th: Old Cairo - Coptic Heritage and Healing Churches
We continue our spiritual journey by visiting Old Cairo, a place of deep historical significance. Our first stop is the Coptic Museum, home to treasures that span over a thousand years of Christian Egyptian history.
We will then visit the Hanging Church, one of Cairo's oldest and most revered, followed by the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus, where tradition holds that the Holy Family stayed in the Crypt below, during their time in Egypt.
These sacred spaces invite reflection and offer the opportunity to connect with Egypt's rich Christian history. We will enjoy lunch nearby, before returning to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 4 - April 12th: The Mystical Fayoum - Medinet Madi & Wadi Rayan
Today we venture to Fayoum, a land of timeless spiritual energy. We’ll visit Medinet Madi, an ancient temple dedicated to Renenutet, the Egyptian goddess of fertility. This site, dating back to the 12th Dynasty, offers a powerful connection to Egypt's goddess Isis.
Afterward, we’ll travel to Wadi El Rayan, where we will visit the desert waterfalls and enjoy a magical sunset amidst the dunes, a perfect setting for introspection and quiet contemplation. As it will be a long day of journey, we will supply snacks for the day, but we will end our day with a dinner on the way back to our hotel.

Day 5 - April 13th: The Grand Egyptian Museum & Farewell Dinner
We’ll begin our day with a leisurely breakfast before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum. This long-awaited world-class museum is a treasure trove of Egypt’s ancient history, offering deep insights into the civilization that shaped the world.
This museum opened 12 main halls recently, and still awaits an official inauguration. With exhibits that span thousands of years, you will find a special connection with Egypt’s pharaohs and their spiritual legacies.
After our visit, we’ll celebrate our time together with a farewell dinner, where we can reflect on our journey together.

Day 6 - April 14th: Departures / Optional Day Trip to Saqqara
On this day, you have options! Please read Carefully & choose what will be best for you:
Option 1: For those departing Egypt, we’ll provide a transfer to the airport. Please note that you should be at the airport 3 hours before your flight departure.
Breakfast is included
Option 2: For those wishing to extend their spiritual journey, we are offering an optional visit to the wonderful ancient Egyptian site of Saqqara. You’ll see the Unas Pyramid & Pyramid Texts (an ancient text of magical spells for connecting with the stars), the Sound Healing Hospital, and the mysterious Serapeum; followed by a delicious & lovingly prepared authentic Egyptian lunch at the Blue Lotus Restaurant, which is located near Saqqara and is always a favorite. Then you’ll return to the hotel for a free afternoon.
Important: You must pay separately for the Saqqara option; it is not included in Mystical Cairo pricing.
